Why even bother saying (so far) though? We all know I'm lucky if I get out one post per year. I was just reading my old posts, yet again, and decided to do an update. I read Lily all of the older posts about her, she thought it was hilarious. We're just laying around, she's watching Mitchell's Vs The Machines and I'm trying to transfer all of my music from Spotify to Amazon Music. Only because of Alexa really. I much prefer Spotify, tbh. But I have to have the Alexa subscription regardless, and it's only $6 more for the music so why not? My last post was mid August 2020, I mentioned that we had two hurricanes headed our way and I hoped that they died down before they reached us. LMAO. Laura was a BITCH! We were without power for a WEEK! In Louisiana, in August! I don't do well with heat in the slightest, so there were a couple times where I swore I was literally boiling from the inside. We survived. Barely. Oh and then, around Valentine's Day, we had a literal ice storm! It snowed for two days, then everything froze, and we were stuck in the house for a week because our driveway was frozen solid. Thankfully we never lost power, but our water only came out at a trickle and we had to boil it before using it. We were lucky though because a lot of people lost it completely.
Oh yeah, in December I had Covid. Not fun at all. Luckily for me, I didn't really have a cough with it though. Mine was mostly loss of smell/taste, severe body aches/chills, and possibly the worst headache I've ever had. I'm convinced Steven had it also because he had all the same symptoms a couple weeks later, but he tested negative. Lily didn't get it though, thank God. Over all, we ended up having to quarantine 3 times. Once because of me, twice because of someone in Lily's class. But we survived 2020! It was rough at times, for sure. I don't think I could have survived another summer having to wear a mask! That's all I can think of for now. I guess I'll do some more "Things about Lily" and probably a giant photo dump of the snow storm. We've just been enjoying Summer as much as we can before we have to go back in August. Boo! (But yay for a job! haha!)
Lastly, and I don't even know how to incorporate this other than to just say it; we lost my brother in law, Scott back in April. It was a total shock and to be honest, I haven't even completely processed it. Like I just can't make myself believe that he's just gone. I'd known him for over half my life. It still doesn't seem real. He was for sure one of a kind, and he will be truly missed.
- So about Lily. She's 7 now, about to start 2nd grade in August.
- She is an amazing reader! She was the top reader in her class this year, reading at a 4th Grade level!!
- She's still obsessed with her baby dolls. Sadly though, Petunia has been replaced by Lucy, a "reborn" doll she got for Christmas last year.
- She is the nosiest human being I've ever met, excluding her father.
- She's addicted to TV. Like, has to have it playing at all times, can't drag her attention away from it, addicted.
- Still can't keep her dressed at the house. As soon as we walk in the door, the clothes disappear.
- She's still in love with art/drawing. She's really good at it!
- Still as messy as ever, of course.
- She's finally getting a little more social with other kids. She opened up a lot this year with Mrs Peggy! She made some new friends, too!
